Release Notes: Pure1 VM Analytics Collector

Currently viewing public documentation. Please login to access the full scope of documentation.

Pure1 VM Analytics is here to help narrow down the troubleshooting steps in your virtualized environment. VM Analytics provides you with a visual representation of the I/O path from the VM all the way through to the FlashArray.  VM Analytics requires a collector to gather the information from the vSphere environment and then uses phonehome to deliver this data to Pure1.  This KB covers the Release Notes specifically about the Collector that is deployed on the Pure Storage VMware Appliance.

The release notes in this KB are specific to the Pure1 VM Analytics Collector and not the Pure Storage VMware Appliance or the Remote Plugin for the vSphere Client release notes.  For those release notes refer to the following:

For more information about Pure1 VM Analytics and Pure1 Manage refer to the following:

For the VM Analytics Collector to work correctly access to Pure1's phonehome and be enabled. See this KB for more information.
These specific hostnames should be accessible via port 443:

  • *.cloud-support.purestorage.com

  • deb.cloud-support.purestorage.com
(as of Collector 3.x this hostname specifically must be allowed access for puresw to upgrade/update the appliance or collector)
