How To: Upgrade vROps Management Pack 1.0.152 to 2.0.11

Currently viewing public documentation. Please login to access the full scope of documentation.

Requirements:

  • vRealize Operation 6.7 or higher (Advanced and Enterprise Versions)
  • FlashArray 400 series
  • FlashArray//M series
  • FlashArray//X series
  • Purity 5.0.x or higher

Upgrade Workflow:

With the 2.0.8 plugin there were issues with some of the metric changes incorporated in the new management pack.  This caused problems with upgrading a 1.0.x plugin to 2.0.8 such that some metrics were not reporting correctly.  There will be a different workflow required to get to 2.0.11 depending on how the end used got to the 2.0.8 plugin.

Current Plugin Version Previous Plugin Version Process to get to 2.0.11

1.0.152 or lower

1.0.152 or lower Simply install the 2.0.11 plugin and it will upgrade the existing plugin and keep all metrics.

2.0.8

Fresh Install There is no way to upgrade to 2.0.11.  You will need to uninstall 2.0.8 and then do a fresh install of 2.0.11.
2.0.8 1.0.x First you must downgrade from 2.0.8 to 1.0.152.  Then from there you will be able to upgrade to 2.0.11.
2.0.11 2.0.8 and previously was on 1.0.152. The upgrade to 2.0.11 will fail if the current version of the plugin is 2.0.8, just as the upgrade from 1.0.152 to 2.0.8 failed.  The process here will need to downgrade from 2.0.11 to 2.0.8 and then downgrade from 2.0.11 to 1.0.152.  Then you can upgrade from 1.0.152 to 2.0.11.
2.0.11 2.0.8 fresh install The upgrade from 2.0.8 to 2.0.11 will have failed as it is not supported.  There is no path to upgrade from 2.0.8 to 2.0.11.  The plugin will need to be uninstalled and then the 2.0.11 version of the plugin can be installed.

Download:

Currently we have unpublished the Solutions Exchange page for the version 2.0.8 vROPs management pack plugin while Pure works to fix some issues that were recently found in the 2.0.8 release.  The 2.0.11 version of the plugin has been published at this point in time.  Should there be a case where there was a 1.0.x version of the plugin unsuccessfully upgraded to 2.0.8, please first downgrade to 1.0.152 and then upgrade to 2.0.11.
